Nuevos registros de la presencia de Juglans jamaicensis en Villa Clara, Cuba

Resumen

Juglans jamaicensis, único representante del género en las Antillas, se encuentra categorizado en Peligro Crítico en la Lista Roja de la flora vascular cubana. Esta especie, de gran valor maderable, posee un areal de distribución muy restringido. En este trabajo se registra una nueva
localidad para J. jamaicensis. subsp. jamaicensis y por primera vez, la presencia de J. jamaicensis. subsp. insularis en Villa Clara.

ABSTRACT
Juglans jamaicensis, the only representative of the genus in the Antilles, it is categorized as Critically Endangered in the Red List of Cuban vascular plants. This species, highly appreciated as timber have a very restricted area of distribution. The presence of J. jamaicensis subsp. insularis in Villa Clara province is referred for the first time and a new location for J. jamaicensis. subsp. jamaicensis is reported in this work.
